Vietnamese-Speaking Dentist · Kearny Mesa, San Diego
The Convoy District in Kearny Mesa is the heart of San Diego’s Vietnamese community — the restaurants, markets, and family businesses that feel like home. When it comes to the dentist, that same comfort matters: being able to explain what hurts, ask questions, and understand your treatment plan in your own language.
Our team speaks Vietnamese, English, and Spanish, and we have cared for Vietnamese families across San Diego for more than 30 years. We are a short drive south in City Heights, and we make the whole visit — from insurance to aftercare — easy to understand. Nói tiếng Việt thoải mái.
From Convoy Street and the Kearny Mesa shopping centers, take I-805 or I-15 south and exit toward University Ave — the drive is roughly 12 minutes outside of rush hour. Our office is on University Ave between 52nd and 54th Streets in City Heights, next to Vien Dong Supermarket, with on-site parking.
Dentistry involves a lot of decisions — which tooth, which treatment, what it costs, what the trade-offs are. When those conversations happen in a language you are still learning, it is easy to nod along and leave unsure of what was actually decided. Being able to speak Vietnamese with your dentist and front desk means you can describe symptoms precisely, ask the questions you actually have, and make confident choices about your care.
It also matters for the people you bring with you. Many of our Vietnamese families come in across generations — grandparents, parents, and children — and a bilingual team means an older parent does not have to rely on a child to translate medical details, and a child’s questions get answered directly.
We offer the full range of care in-house: routine exams and cleanings, fillings, crowns and bridges, root canals, extractions, full and partial dentures, and dental implants. Whatever you need, you can talk it through in Vietnamese first.
When you call, you can speak Vietnamese with our front desk. We will find a time that works, tell you what to bring, and answer any questions about insurance or Denti-Cal before you come in.
Bring a photo ID and your Denti-Cal, Medi-Cal, or insurance card. If you have dental records or X-rays from a previous dentist — including from Vietnam — bring them or let us know so we can request them.
We examine your teeth and gums, take digital X-rays as needed, and explain what we find clearly, in Vietnamese. There is no pressure and no upsell — we recommend what you actually need and explain why.
You leave knowing exactly what is recommended, what insurance or Denti-Cal covers, and what you would pay out of pocket. We can phase treatment over time if that helps the budget.
