A routine cleaning every 6 months is the single most effective thing you can do to avoid expensive dental problems. Our City Heights office makes it easy: convenient location, bilingual staff, and insurance accepted or transparent cash pricing.
Hablamos español. Nói tiếng Việt.
A complete hygiene appointment includes a professional scaling and polishing, a check for early cavities and gum problems, and an oral cancer screening — all in one visit so you are not coming back twice.
If your gum health calls for a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), we tell you clearly why and what to expect. We do not recommend deeper cleanings as a routine upsell — only when your chart actually shows active gum disease.
Preventive cleanings are covered at or near 100% by most PPO dental plans. We verify your benefits before the visit and tell you upfront what you will owe, if anything.
Our hygienists and front desk speak Vietnamese and Spanish. Cleaning instructions, gum health updates, and home care recommendations can all be given in your preferred language.
We see patients of all ages. Children can start routine cleanings as early as their first teeth come in, and our team is experienced at making young patients comfortable.
What happens
A complete hygiene visit is more than just polishing — it is a thorough assessment and preventive session that takes about 45–90 minutes depending on your needs.
We review any changes to your health history, medications, or dental concerns since your last visit. This takes a few minutes and helps us catch any conditions that affect your cleaning.
Bitewing X-rays are typically recommended once a year to catch cavities between teeth and check bone levels. If your last set is recent, we skip them.
The hygienist removes plaque and tartar (calculus) that home brushing and flossing cannot reach — especially at the gumline and between teeth. We use ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments.
A polishing paste removes surface stains and smooths tooth surfaces. This is the step that leaves your teeth feeling noticeably clean.
Thorough flossing cleans between every contact. The dentist completes a brief oral cancer screening — checking the tongue, throat, lips, and soft tissue.
The dentist reviews your X-rays and clinical findings and discusses anything that needs attention. If a filling or other treatment is indicated, we explain it clearly and schedule at your convenience — never any pressure.
