Wisdom Teeth Removal · San Diego
Most wisdom tooth extractions are handled right here in our City Heights office. We assess the position of each tooth, tell you upfront what to expect, and avoid an unnecessary oral surgeon referral when the extraction is routine. Student ID gets you 10% off all self-pay services.
Student ID? 10% off self-pay. Hablamos español. Nói tiếng Việt.
We handle most straightforward wisdom tooth extractions in our City Heights office. If a tooth's position or root shape genuinely requires an oral surgeon, we tell you that upfront and give you a referral — but we do not send you out the door automatically.
We verify your insurance benefits, tell you the out-of-pocket estimate, and explain what is and is not covered before we schedule the extraction. No bill surprises at checkout.
Bring a valid student ID to your visit and get 10% off all self-pay services. Wisdom tooth extractions are one of the most common procedures we do for the College Area and SDSU crowd.
A wisdom tooth that is partially erupted, infected, or pressing on a neighboring tooth often flares without warning. We hold same-day capacity for patients who are in significant pain and cannot wait.
Our front desk and clinical team speaks Vietnamese and Spanish. If you want to talk through the procedure, recovery, or cost in your preferred language, we can do that.
Signs it is time to be seen
Not all wisdom teeth need to come out. These situations usually warrant an exam and an x-ray to find out.
Wisdom tooth pain that goes away and comes back — especially around a partially erupted tooth — usually means the tooth is moving or causing ongoing irritation. It is worth an evaluation to see whether it needs to come out now or can be watched.
Swelling near a partially erupted wisdom tooth can indicate pericoronitis (infection under the gum flap) or an abscess forming at the root. These need prompt evaluation — call us the same day.
A wisdom tooth infection can spread to the surrounding tissues and cause trismus (jaw tightening). This is a same-day call situation.
Not all dentists agree on when or whether to extract asymptomatic wisdom teeth. We review the x-ray with you and give you our honest read — not a blanket recommendation to pull everything.
What to expect
We take a current x-ray (or use one you already have) to see the exact position and root shape of each wisdom tooth. That tells us whether your case is straightforward in-office or genuinely needs a specialist.
We verify your insurance coverage, give you the out-of-pocket estimate, and walk you through what to expect for the procedure and recovery — before you commit to anything.
For a straightforward extraction, you are numb, the tooth is out, and you are home within an hour or two. We send you home with written after-care instructions and emergency contact info if something feels off during recovery.
Most patients recover in a few days to a week. We schedule a quick follow-up if needed and are reachable by phone during business hours if you have questions about healing.
